Director Dr. Hazem Refai
Dr. Hazem H. Refai received his M.S. E. E. and Ph. D. degrees from the University of Oklahoma (OU) in 1993 and 1999, respectively.
- Since the fall of 2007, Dr. Refai has been an Associate Professor at the school of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Telecommunication Program in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Dr. Refai is involved in the development of vehicle-to-vehicle communication systems, laser mobile communication system using free space optics, and auto-collision avoidance systems.
He is founder and director of the wireless electromagnetic compliance and design (WECAD) center at OU-Tulsa. The center's mission is to carry out basic and applied research in RF and optical wireless communications and networks in addition to electronic compatibility. Dr. Refai is past IEEE ComSoc Tulsa Chapter President and Distinguished Lecturer Tour Coordinator for North America.
Dr. Refai is the co-founder and director of Innovative Traffic Systems and Solutions LLC. The company develops computing and communication systems to be used in intelligent transportation and highway systems.
